Robert Bole is Director of Global Strategy at The Atlantic.
He is the first general manager of CityLab.com. In this position, he focuses on assisting The Atlantic’s growth in international markets and leads the expansion efforts of the site’s audience, revenue, and mission.
Robert has spent his career in leadership and digital and global strategy for media companies. Most recently, Robert has been an advisor to The New York Times and The Atlantic. Previously, he was the Director of Innovation for the Broadcasting Board of Governors, a federal agency that oversees five regional media networks, and managed digital media strategy for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
Robert began his career as a housing program specialist in Portland, Oregon. He received a bachelor’s in Economics from George Washington University and a master’s in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.
